In reply to Julia Gillard. I’m wondering if you’re interested in the Shakespeare authorship question and the meaning of the Droeshout engraving in the first folio. I think it should be referred to as the First Foolscap (Fool’s Cap), because that is the same paper size as folio. I have many ideas about the meaning of the monument, the epitaph and the First Folio, if you’re interested in hearing them, please let me know. P.

See p229 of James Hirsh, ‘Act Divisions in the Shakespeare First Folio’, The Papers of the Bibliographical Society of America 96, no. 2 (2002): 229, http://www.jstor.org/stable/24295711. He says it was a guy called Ralph Crane, employed as a scribe by the publishers of the first Folio.
